Serve a permanent position to a financial institution; act as a Technical Project Manager to manage IT projects, including implementation of a private cloud platform enhancement and its security‑related products to support deployment of new applications in a private cloud environment.
Manage the project timeline and drive the delivery of project implementation on technical aspects, and ensure proper operational transition before production launch.
Manage and identify inter‑dependencies on the implementation of different technological components.
Manage technical enquiries and handle problem isolation to speed up troubleshooting turnaround time, including resource and communication alignment.
Prepare and review project‑related documents, e.g., design documents.
Manage the following key aspects of the project according to the defined project governance framework:
Scope and schedule: development of the project plan, integration of vendor’s project plan into the master project plan, and identification of the critical path.
Communication: arrangement of management meetings as well as presentation materials and minutes, preparation of progress reports and ensuring involvement of related stakeholders.
Tracking of project expenses and preparation of expenditure reports based on the defined budget.
Study of related vendor contracts to ensure realization of contract benefits.
Management of priorities to ensure that all critical path‑related tasks are on track.
Keep track of project issues, risk and action items to ensure settlement of any outstanding items by related owners.
Manage project team of vendor and work closely with internal project team members and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of the project.
Ensure proper documentation of the project and drive the project closure.
Perform other project‑related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
University degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably gained from major financial institutions with proven experience in managing scalable IT infrastructure projects or Cloud platform projects.
Solid and hands‑on technical experience in at least one of the following areas:
Public and/or private cloud platform.
Networking and related security products (e.g., routing, firewall, web application firewall).
Kubernetes (K8S) and/or Service Mesh.
DevOps products and pipeline maintenance, especially Infrastructure as Code and related platform automation.
Centralised secret management / vault management.
Solid technical knowledge of operating systems, such as Linux and Windows.
Knowledge of PMP and Prince 2 or possession of relevant certification is preferred.
Experience in IT contract management, particularly in respect of resolution of contractual or commercial issues is preferred.
Experience in managing budgets of large‑scale IT projects is preferred.
Positive attitude and strong commitment to delivery of projects with good quality.
Effective communication skills, particularly the ability to present complex ideas and technical details in layman terms to different levels of stakeholders.
Strong multi‑tasking capability with pleasant personality.
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese. Ability to communicate in Putonghua is preferred.
