Duties
- Provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for Woodland Cree Ent. Inc. and its programs
- Implement the organizations strategic plan and Board-approved priorities.
- Oversee program delivery, staffing, budgeting and financial management.
- Ensure compliance with funding agreements, reporting requirements and organizational policies.
- Monitor organizational performance, key performance indicators, and program outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, partners, stakeholders and community organizations.
- Represent Woodland Cree Ent. Inc. at meetings, events, and public engagements.
- Support and report regularly to the Board of Directors.
- Identify funding, partnership, and growth opportunities that support Woodland Cree Ent. Inc. programs.
- Ensure that updated balances are kept for each First Nations allocation including projected commitments.
- Maintain current knowledge of the northern labour market
- Travel as required
- Perform other duties as requested by the Board of Directors
Qualifications
- Business Administration Diploma/Accounting/Finance plus 5 years experience working in the Training and Employment field/2 years experience in management position.
- Demonstrated ability in financial, accounting/fund accounting
- Strong working knowledge of the northern labour market
- Strong working knowledge of first nations training programs and institutes.
- Supervisory experience
- Ability to prepare and maintain budgets
- Ability to work independently
- Working knowledge of accounting software (1 to 2 years) Excel, Word and Outlook
- Punctual and Reliable
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to interpret and implement company policy and procedures
- Ability to speak Cree is an asset but not required
- Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
- Must be able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
