The Equity Data value stream at S&P Dow Jones Indices manages all data related to securities and their corporate actions, including collecting, validating, and updating information on stocks and related instruments. The team processes corporate actions like mergers, splits, and dividends to ensure data accuracy and maintains the security master, a centralized database that serves as the foundation for all company products. This role is critical for maintaining data integrity and supporting the company’s product offerings.

Responsibilities and Impact

Manager: Reference Data and Security Master is accountable for designing and delivering a unified Security Master that serves as the single source of truth for security reference data across products. Responsibilities include:

  • Design and maintain the Security Master: develop and oversee a unified security master database that accurately captures all required attributes for each security.
  • Data quality and integrity: implement robust data governance practices, including validation, auditing, and reconciliation processes.
  • Corporate actions integration: ensure all relevant corporate actions (mergers, splits, dividends) are promptly and accurately reflected in the security master.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: work closely with index calculation and client support teams to align the security master with business needs.
  • Deep domain expertise: develop a strong understanding of securities, corporate actions, and security master data.
  • Impact on high‑profile products: support flagship indices and analytics used globally.
  • Career growth & skill development: gain experience with industry standards (ISIN, CUSIP, Share Type), workflow automation, and data management tools.
  • Problem‑solving & process improvement: identify gaps, streamline processes, and contribute to innovation in data handling.

What We’re Looking For

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
  • Strong attention to detail and self‑motivated.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Python.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes such as Power Automate.
