What you'll do

  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation and testing, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with product management and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and timelines, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Implement agile methodologies to enhance team productivity and responsiveness to changing project requirements, facilitating regular sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and conducting regular performance reviews to support individual development plans.
  • Drive the adoption of modern software development practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews, to improve code quality and deployment efficiency.
  • Manage project budgets and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope, while identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating relevant advancements into the team's workflow to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to share ideas and participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, including marketing and customer support, to ensure seamless integration of software solutions and address any customer feedback.
  • Prepare and present regular updates to senior management on project status, team performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts to attract top talent to the software development team, ensuring a diverse and skilled workforce.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, along with experience in web and mobile application development.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and familiarity with microservices architecture is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of database management systems and experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

  • Experience in the payment processing industry or familiarity with mobile payment technologies.
