As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Post Trade Technology team, you play a vital role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering reliable, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As a key technical contributor, you will be responsible for implementing essential technology solutions across diverse technical domains within various business functions, all in support of the firm's strategic objectives.

Job responsibilities

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

Leads team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes, while setting expectations for human validation, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and consistent use of reusable patterns across teams.

Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation and support capacity unlock initiatives.

Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture

Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.

Minimum 10 years of hands on development experience as a Java Full Stack and experience in UI Frameworks React with TypeScript.

Experience with cloud platforms Cloud Foundry and AWS, AWS services ECS, Postgres, Lambdas, Redis.

Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.

Test-driven development, Object-oriented and MVC experience.

Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams, including defining ways of working (review/validation expectations), measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure handling of data.

Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, resiliency/security implications, and governance expectations; ability to coach engineers on compliant and effective usage.

Working knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot 3.

Experience in Terraform scripting, messaging frameworks Kafka.

Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile,

Exposure to Copilot, Open AI.

Experience working with RAG frameworks

Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
