Role Responsibilities

The Manager – Solution Engineering is responsible for designing and delivering scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions across digital banking, wallets, cards, and payment platforms. This role provides technical leadership for solution delivery, collaborates closely with business and engineering teams, and ensures solutions align with architectural standards, operational requirements, and business objectives.

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Design end-to-end solutions for digital banking, wallet, card issuing/processing, and payment systems.
  • Contribute to cloud-native architectures on AWS, leveraging managed services to achieve scalability, resiliency, and security.
  • Design API-first and event-driven solutions supporting real-time and batch transaction processing.
  • Ensure appropriate separation of concerns across channels, orchestration, domain services, ledger, and settlement components.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Banking & Payments Domain Expertise

  • Apply domain knowledge across:
    • Digital Banking platforms
    • Wallet and stored-value systems
    • Card issuing, authorization, clearing, and settlement
    • Domestic and cross-border payment systems
  • Support solution designs addressing funds availability, settlement, reconciliation, and accounting requirements.
  • Ensure solutions comply with regulatory, audit, and operational requirements.
  • Work with Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to incorporate controls, traceability, and monitoring into solution designs.

Team Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead and mentor solution engineers, fostering engineering best practices and technical growth.
  • Drive technical execution across projects, ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Support estimation, planning, and prioritization activities for solution delivery.
  • Promote engineering excellence through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Technical

  • Strong experience with AWS Cloud, including services such as:
    • Compute (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda)
    • API & Integration (API Gateway, Event Bridge, SQS, SNS)
    • Data (RDS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
    • Security & Monitoring (IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail)
  • Experience designing API-driven and event-based architecture.
  • 9+ Years of strong software architecture design skills.
  • Strong experience in Java programming including, Servlets, JDBC, JMS, Spring, Spring JDBC, JEE & Eclipse IDE.
  • Knowledge of relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and resiliency patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Domain

  • 7+ years of experience in banking, fintech, or payments technology.
  • Experience working with Digital Banking, Wallets, Cards, and Payments platforms.
  • Understanding of payment processing lifecycles, ledgering, settlement, and reconciliation concepts.
  • Experience operating within regulated environments and compliance-driven organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with real-time payment systems and local payment rails.
  • Exposure to cross-border payments and multi-currency solutions.
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting modernization of banking or payment platforms.
  • Prior experience leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale platform initiatives.

Work Shift
