Shipping/Packaging Material Handler
A Shipping/Packaging Material Handler ensures the efficient movement, safe packaging, and accurate documentation of goods in a warehouse or facility. They are responsible for processing shipments, loading/unloading trucks, operating warehouse equipment, and maintaining tight inventory control to prevent damage and delays.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs the physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping, packaging, storing and distributing of materials and Finished Goods
- Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
- Lifts heavy items and operate a forklift (standing up, sitting down rider, and hand pallet jack).
- Examines stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
- Assist with and perform other material handling duties.
- Follows all company and facility policies including quality, safety, conduct and attendance.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read and understand English
Material Handler:
- Minimum 3-year warehouse experience ($20-$24)
- 2 years sit-down forklift experience minimum
- Preferably handling metal experience
- Data entry experience preferred
- Sheet metal tubes and aluminum block experience preferred.
Shipping/Receiving:
- 2-4 years of Warehouse/Shipping/Receiving experience preferred (i.e., pulling parts, transactions, etc.) ($24-$28)
- Crating packaging experience preferred
- Oracle experience preferred will need to be able to do transactions
- Forklift certified or forklift experience
- FedEx, UPS, International shipments, and commercial invoices experience preferred
- Warehouse knowledge (i.e., pulling parts, transactions, etc.)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
