Job Title: Material Handler
Note: This role is for a 3 month contract with the potential for fulltime
Job Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for preparing parts to use in production. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the role will be required to follow parts lists, to move and organize parts, and work efficiently to meet deadlines.
Responsibility:
Accurately stage and sort products for loading with guidance and supervision
Move materials within the facility following first in, first out
Check individual output to ensure highest quality
Report on issues or defective parts
Work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies, and procedures
Collaborate effectively with colleagues when necessary, providing assistance as needed while working autonomously on assigned tasks
Other duties as assigned by lead hand and supervisor
Operate forklift.
Academic/Educational Requirements:
Highschool diploma or equivalent is preferred
Required Skills/Experience:
Ability to read and understand order sheets and picking lists.
Familiarity with warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) is an advantage
Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane (training will be provided)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer skills
Ability to lift up to 50lbs with the assistance of a lifting device
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Strong communication skills both written and verbal is an asset
Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, attention to detail
