Material Handler

The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate, safe, and efficient movement and storage of materials to support the business needs of the manufacturing operation.

  • Loads and unloads trucks with inbound and outbound materials.
  • Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and damage.
  • Accurately record material movements in the inventory management system.
  • Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks using PIVs.
  • Report inventory levels, material shortages, and other issues to Supervisors.
  • Performs all functions according to sound safety principles and company policies and procedures.
  • Inspect equipment daily, per guidelines, prior to use.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly, timely, and accurately, including quality reports, timecards, etc. Enters data and maintains computer record information as directed.
  • Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
  • Communicates effectively across and within company departments.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the department.
  • Monitors product constantly to assure quality standards are being met and rejects product that does not meet quality standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • One year of material handling experience

Licensing and Certification:

  • Must obtain Forklift Certification (training and certification provided)
  • Must have a valid Driver's License

Qualifications

  • Proven time management skills with the ability to respond to time-critical issues, and work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Customer service focus with the ability to build and maintain strong working and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent work ethic ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player.
  • Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Comfortable using a PC with computer software packages, including Microsoft Office.
  • Able to deal effectively with various personality types and cultures.
