Karlayura Personnel is partnering directly with our client, a global leader in delivering complex cargo solutions on an ambitious project across the Pilbara Region of Western Australia.
This project will see the Karlayura Personnel team work on a complex, end to end logistics program, alongside our client, delivering a series of Wind Turbine Blades, Nacelles, Tower and associated equipment from Port Hedland to the landing area in the Pilbara region of Western Australia
We are seeking experienced
Material Handler / Laydown Coordinators to join our team in the Pilbara, supporting major projects within the heavy lifting and logistics sector.
About the Role
Working closely with the Project Team, you will coordinate and optimize laydown operations, ensuring efficient handling of all cargo, including oversized and heavy loads—while maintaining high safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage laydown yards and optimise space utilisation
  • Coordinate cargo movements, arrivals, and inventory control
  • Plan and schedule lifting equipment and transport activities
  • Track cargo movements, including scanning and reporting
  • Maintain forward planning with a strong focus on cargo flow and lookahead
  • Liaise with clients and project teams on freight timelines
  • Complete daily timesheet entries (Deputy)
  • Undertake MYOSH reporting (incidents, near misses, tagging, etc.)
  • Support lifting operations and equipment use (where qualified)
  • Assist with reporting, project coordination, and logistics planning
  • Maintain strong compliance with HSE/WHS policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum Year 10 completion
  • White Card
  • Forklift Licence (LF)
  • Current, unrestricted Driver’s Licence
  • Basic Dogging/Rigging (desirable)
  • First Aid (desirable)
  • National Police clearance certificate

About You
  • Proven experience in transport/logistics and heavy lifting operations
  • Strong coordination and planning skills in a project environment
  • High commitment to safety and HSE compliance
  • Experience with cargo tracking systems and reporting tools (desirable)
  • Relevant tickets/licences (Forklift, EWP, Telehandler)
