Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Developer / Architect to design and maintain enterprise database architectures supporting complex business applications, high-volume transactions, reporting environments, and analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, ETL processes, reporting technologies, performance tuning, and Azure-hosted database environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain scalable enterprise database architectures.
- Develop advanced SQL Server solutions using T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and database objects.
- Design and implement ETL processes to integrate data across applications, reporting platforms, cloud services, and external systems.
- Create and optimize reporting and analytics solutions using SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI.
- Lead data modeling initiatives supporting workflow automation, claims management, reporting, and analytics.
- Perform query tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and database performance optimization.
- Support Azure-hosted SQL Server environments to ensure availability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver scalable database solutions.
- Support deployment automation, version control, release management, and CI/CD processes.
- Contribute to database governance, architecture reviews, technical documentation, and modernization initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of SQL Server development and database architecture experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing enterprise database environments and reporting platforms.
- Experience supporting Federal, State, or Local Government modernization initiatives.
- Experience in insurance, healthcare, claims processing, workers' compensation, legal services, financial services, or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with claims lifecycle management, case management systems, and regulatory reporting environments.
- Experience designing enterprise reporting solutions using Power BI, SSRS, SSAS, and self-service BI platforms.
- Experience supporting Azure-hosted SQL Server environments, including storage, backups, and cloud-native database management.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, automated deployments, schema version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Azure Key Vault, Azure networking, monitoring platforms, and cloud security practices.
- Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or related certifications are highly desirable.
