Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join the Orion delivery team in Lisbon. Orion is a strategic Control Framework and Supervision platform supporting non financial risk across CIB. You will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of a scalable, robust solution, working closely with business analysts, architects, and other development teams in an agile environment.
What will you do?
- Design, develop, and maintain Java based backend services and components for the Orion platform
- Contribute to the delivery of core and transversal features, as well as entity specific requirements
- Ensure high code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to development standards
- Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to translate functional requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)
- Proactively identify technical improvements to enhance performance, security, and maintainability
- Support deployment activities and contribute to production stability when required
What are we looking for?
- Strong experience in Java (8+) and Spring / Spring Boot
- Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and backend service design
- Experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (Git)
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Good understanding of non functional requirements: performance, security, scalability
- English ➔ Mastery
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in an international, distributed team
- Clear communication and a collaborative mindset
- Proactive, delivery focused attitude
Nice to have:
- Experience in banking or financial services, ideally in Front Office or risk related systems
- Exposure to microservices architectures
- Familiarity with cloud or container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of messaging systems or event driven architectures
