- Develop the RTINGS.com mobile application using Hotwire Native to deliver a native experience on iOS and Android while leveraging our existing web platform built on Ruby on Rails and Turbo
- Design native screens and native integration components (bridge components) where the web experience does not meet the app's needs
- Work closely with the Product Manager and the Rails/backend development team to design, deliver, and rapidly iterate on a high-quality mobile experience
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure web views, APIs, and platform-shared features integrate effectively with the native app
- Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability
- Publish, monitor, and maintain app releases on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
- Diagnose production issues and continuously improve the app's stability, performance, and user experience
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3–5 years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails development, full-stack, or mobile development
- Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, particularly Hotwire (Turbo and Stimulus), required
- Experience with Hotwire Native (formerly Turbo Native), or a demonstrated ability to learn it quickly, strongly preferred
- Experience developing native iOS and/or Android applications (Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose), enabling you to build native integration (bridge) components and platform-specific features
- Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store is a plus
- Experience integrating third‑party SDKs and mobile platform services (e.g., push notifications, authentication, analytics) is a plus
- Experience with GraphQL is a plus
- Quick learner with excellent problem‑solving skills
