The Radiology / Cardiology MRI Technologist is responsible for performing MRI imaging procedures including abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, and other specialized scans. The role requires expertise in MRI techniques such as diffusion, gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, and use of surface coils. The technologist will collaborate with clinical teams, ensure patient safety, and maintain high-quality imaging standards. This position demands at least 2 years of experience, BLS and ARRT certifications, and flexibility to float to different medical centers as needed.
Responsibilities:- Perform MRI scans on various body parts including abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, and musculoskeletal system.
- Utilize advanced MRI techniques such as diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, peripheral magnetic resonance, spin echo images, and CINE.
- Operate MRI equipment including GE and Siemens units and use surface coils effectively.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate imaging and patient care.
- Float to NHRMC Ortho and NH Scotts Hill Medical Center as required.
- Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events or disasters.
- Complete required hospital and unit orientation sessions and maintain compliance with all safety and procedural standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and communication using EPIC system.
- Minimum of 2 years MRI technologist experience; first-time travelers not accepted.
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in MRI imaging techniques including abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, diffusion, gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, peripheral magnetic resonance, spin echo images, surface coils, T1 and T2, and CINE.
- Experience with GE and Siemens MRI equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, clinical environment with diverse patient populations including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Experience with chest imaging and image post-processing techniques.
- Familiarity with neonates, infants, and pediatric patient groups.
- Return to Office (RTO) after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked onsite.
- Call-offs or additional RTO on unit may lead to cancellation and Do Not Rehire (DNR) status.
- Floating to other medical centers as needed is required.
- Contract staff must participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and be available during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster situations.
- Orientation attendance is mandatory; missing any portion may delay or cancel start date.
- Scrubs color required: royal blue.
- Work schedule includes Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shifts from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
- Shift length: 3-12 hour shifts per week.
- Maximum contract duration: 13 weeks.
- Start dates vary and are scheduled based on training availability; travelers must be fully available with no other commitments during orientation week.
- Scheduling is per unit needs with no call requirement.
