IT Network Engineer
We are seeking an experienced IT Network Engineer to join a dynamic IT infrastructure team. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and optimisation of enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity across on-premises and cloud environments. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in networking and security, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to contribute to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, load balancers, SD-WAN, cloud, and remote connectivity.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure high availability across the IT infrastructure.
Manage network security solutions and implement security best practices to protect business systems and data.
Perform incident, problem, and change management activities in line with operational procedures.
Configure and maintain network devices, cloud networking, and remote access solutions.
Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and service providers to deliver infrastructure projects and operational improvements.
Produce and maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and technical procedures.
Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of new technologies.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including network automation and operational efficiency.
Ensure infrastructure complies with security, governance, and business requirements.
Requirements
Strong experience supporting and managing enterprise network infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networking, and network security.
Experience working with enterprise networking technologies and cloud networking environments.
Proven experience troubleshooting complex network issues in production environments.
Good understanding of network monitoring, performance optimisation, and fault diagnosis.
Experience with VPNs, remote access solutions, and network security technologies.
Knowledge of SD-WAN and network automation is advantageous.
Experience with Microsoft Azure or other public cloud networking services is desirable.
CCNA (or equivalent networking knowledge) is essential; CCNP or higher is advantageous.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
