Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 9 years with High School Diploma.
Technical Expertise
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and F5 network hardware and software.
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, load balancing, and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency in VPN technologies, TIC connectivity, and cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
Certifications
- CCNA or equivalent certification recommended; higher‑level certifications (CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSE, F5‑CA) are a plus.

- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Operations & Maintenance: Perform daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and load balancers; ensure optimal performance and availability of network services across a nationwide footprint.
- Support and maintain VoIP solutions to ensure reliable voice communication across the organization.
- Service Management: Support and maintain VPN connectivity for remote users and secure communications; manage internet connectivity via TIC (Trusted Internet Connection) and ensure compliance with security standards; maintain and optimize cloud connectivity with AWS and Azure environments; oversee high‑speed connectivity through ESNet for critical applications and data transfers.
- Incident Response & Support: Provide 24×7 support for network‑related incidents and outages, including on‑call rotation; diagnose and resolve complex network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Configuration & Deployment: Configure and deploy network devices and services, ensuring adherence to best practices and security policies; implement changes and upgrades to network hardware and software as required.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records; ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards for network security and performance.
