Senior Network Engineer


Brussels (Anderlecht & European District)


Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a team responsible for the design, operation, security, and continuous improvement of a large-scale network infrastructure supporting business and industrial operations across Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK.

Working in both IT and OT environments, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of critical network services running 24/7.


Your Role

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be involved in both operational activities and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with internal teams to maintain and evolve a complex network environment while supporting business-critical services across Europe.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing and operating enterprise network infrastructures in a 24/7 environment
  • Performing network deployments, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Supporting connectivity across multiple European locations
  • Participating in strategic infrastructure projects, including:
  • Data center connectivity and expansion
  • Cloud networking and security initiatives
  • WAN modernization projects
  • Network enhancements driven by business and application requirements
  • Ensuring changes are prepared, documented, and executed following strict operational and security standards
  • Collaborating with infrastructure, security, application, and operations teams
  • Contributing to network automation and operational improvements


Your Profile

  • Strong experience as a Network Engineer within complex enterprise environments
  • Fluent in English and proficient in either French or Dutch
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in critical environments where reliability and security are key
  • Willing to participate in an on-call rotation (maximum 1 week out of 4)
  • Driving license and willingness to travel occasionally within Belgium

Must-have skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Routing & Switching protocols:
  • OSPF
  • IS-IS
  • MP-BGP
  • MSTP
  • Cisco Wireless
  • Cloud technologies (Azure or similar)
  • Network automation using Python and/or Ansible
  • Cisco SD-WAN and/or Cisco ACI
  • Network monitoring and management solutions
  • NAC, central Syslog and related backend tools
  • Firewall technologies and network security best practices


Nice to have:

  • TACACS+
  • RADIUS


Technical Environment

You will work within a predominantly Cisco ecosystem and gain exposure to a wide range of technologies, including:

  • Cisco ACI
  • Cisco SD-WAN
  • Cisco ASR, ISR, Catalyst & Nexus
  • Cisco Wireless
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Check Point Firewalls
  • Cisco ISE
  • Zabbix
  • Elastic


Practical Information

Location: Brussels (split between Avenue des Arts and Anderlecht)

Full-time on-site during the first 3 months

Afterwards: hybrid working model (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)
