Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced OpenStack Developer with strong expertise in OpenStack development, Python, Kolla-Ansible, Linux, virtualization, and networking. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining OpenStack services, deploying containerized OpenStack environments, automation, upgrades/migrations, and production troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain OpenStack services and custom drivers.
- Deploy and manage Kolla-based containerized OpenStack clusters.
- Integrate OpenStack with MANO/NFV platforms.
- Create and maintain Heat templates for VNF deployment.
- Perform OpenStack upgrades and migration activities.
- Maintain highly available OpenStack clusters.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, and Ansible.
- Contribute bug fixes, features, and patches to OpenStack upstream projects.
- Work with Gerrit and OpenStack CI/CD workflows.
Required Skills
- 6+ years of hands-on OpenStack development experience.
- Strong/advanced Python and Bash scripting.
- Hands-on experience with OpenStack services such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance, Heat, and Placement.
- Strong experience with Kolla-Ansible and containerized OpenStack deployment.
- Experience in OpenStack upgrades and migrations.
- Strong Linux administration/troubleshooting skills on RHEL/CentOS.
- Hands-on experience with KVM and libvirt.
- Good knowledge of Open vSwitch (OVS), SDN, VLAN, VXLAN, IPv4/IPv6, and preferably SR-IOV.
- Experience with MariaDB/MySQL, Cassandra, RabbitMQ, and Redis.
- Knowledge of Pacemaker/Corosync, HAProxy, and Keepalived.
- Experience with Ansible, Docker/Podman and basic Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Gerrit, CI/CD, OpenStack upstream development, code reviews, and patch submissions.
Preferred
- Active contribution to the OpenStack community.
- Track record of OpenStack commits, reviews, bug fixes, or patch submissions.
- Experience with VNF/NFV deployments and MANO integration.
Candidate Profile
Candidates should have strong hands-on OpenStack development and production troubleshooting experience rather than only OpenStack administration/support experience.
