Role: Oracle PL-SQL Developer
Location: Toronto, ON
Duration: Long Term Contract Responsibilities
Design and implement database objects including tables, views, indexes, and sequences.
Write and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to implement business logic.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using tools like Oracle Cloud Control, AWR reports, and EXPLAIN PLAN; optimize SQL and PL/SQL code for maximum scalability and speed.
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Database software; manage database storage, plan for capacity growth, and handle routine patching and maintenance.
Implement and maintain robust security measures, including data encryption, user access controls, and auditing to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Develop and execute strategies for database backup and disaster recovery using RMAN.
Design and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to migrate data between systems or into data warehouses using utilities like SQL*Loader and Data Pump.
Required Skills & Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field.
Deep knowledge of Oracle Database architecture (12c, 19c) and advanced PL/SQL programming techniques such as bulk processing, collection types, and error handling.
Proficiency with TOAD, SQL Developer, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting for automation.
Professional credentials such as Oracle Certified Professional or Oracle Certified Associate are highly valued.
Knowledge of ESP Scheduler is desirable.
