Under the authority of the Fabrication & Maintenance Supervisor, the Pattern Maker will be responsible for the following duties:

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work performed complies with current manuals and specifications, Avianor directives, engineering drawings, and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
  • Prepare and cut Velcro, various types of fabrics, and leather materials using patterns for assembly purposes.
  • Mark components and materials to be sewn.
  • Operate sewing department equipment and machinery.
  • Create patterns from existing samples or approved engineering data.
  • Assist Production with aircraft seat upholstery installation and covering.
  • Follow all company policies and processes related to assigned duties.
  • Perform self-inspections to maintain a high level of quality.
  • Complete all required work documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain work equipment in good operating condition and keep it clean.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
