Senior Performance Engineer to own and elevate API performance testing across a complex, integrated application ecosystem. This role goes beyond executing load tests - it requires someone who can define performance strategy, interpret results, and clearly communicate business impact to both technical teams and leadership.
This position is a replacement for an existing contractor, with the goal of a smooth transition once the right candidate is identified.
Key Responsibilities
- Own API performance testing across a distributed ecosystem that includes:
- Salesforce
- MuleSoft
- Oracle
- Boundary and downstream applications with heavy API dependencies
- Design and execute a comprehensive performance testing strategy, including:
- Load testing
- Stress testing
- Scalability testing
- Endurance testing
- Volume testing
- Develop structured performance test plans that clearly define:
- User and transaction models
- Test duration and ramp profiles
- Objectives, thresholds, and success criteria
- Execute tests using industry standard tooling and analyze results to identify:
- Bottlenecks
- Failure points
- Scalability risks
- Partner closely with engineering, architecture, and DevOps teams to:
- Drive root cause analysis
- Recommend remediation approaches
- Validate fixes
- Leverage existing automation frameworks where applicable (Playwright, TypeScript, Cucumber)
- Produce clear, executive ready summaries outlining:
- What was tested
- Why it matters
- What the results mean for performance, stability, and risk
- Recommended next steps
