Sr. PL/SQL Developer

Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a Sr. PL/SQL Developer to join our team. In this role, you will lead end-to-end software development initiatives—including requirements analysis, data modeling, database design, and hands-on PL/SQL engineering—for critical national geographic data systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Systems Architecture & Design: Lead technical analysis, relational data modeling, and functional design across all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Core Engineering: Design, develop, test, debug, and optimize complex interactive and batch database applications using Oracle PL/SQL and SQL.
• Requirements Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional project teams, end users, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Author detailed test cases and execute unit, integration, and functional testing to maintain high software performance and data integrity.
• System Integration: Evaluate, integrate, and modernize software packages, APIs, and tools to support client objectives and system interoperability.
• Maintenance & Optimization: Troubleshoot software defects, resolve complex system performance bottlenecks, and implement continuous enhancement requests.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years of software development engineering experience
• 5+ years of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming experience
• Demonstrated expertise in relational database design, data modeling, and batch processing
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal/written communication, and a collaborative team mindset
• Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary federal background check/suitability clearance for federal agency contract support

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on exposure to Java-centric enterprise application development, ORM frameworks (Hibernate, Spring), or Web Services
• Familiarity with Python and Linux shell scripting (bash)
• Experience delivering software within Agile/Scrum environments using CI/CD tools like GitLab
• Basic exposure to HTML5, jQuery, or RESTful API integrations

Additional Information:

• Clearance: In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be US Citizen. Background checks will include criminal history, education, certification, and employment verification, and credit history, and require fingerprinting. (Public Trust investigations typically take 6–8 weeks)
• Work Environment: Flexible/remote, with occasional on-site support as needed.
• Salary Range: $95,000 – $130,000 annually
