The position
As a PL/SQL Developer at agap2, you take on the challenge within an international environment with a local focus. Key Responsibilities
You will help build, maintain, and optimize a high-volume data platform that powers business-critical applications and marketing technologies. You'll work with large-scale data ingestion, streaming integrations, database performance, and operational excellence in a DevOps environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex backend and data engineering challenges, improving system reliability, and taking ownership of production environments.
- Design, maintain, and optimize large-scale Oracle database environments.
- Manage high-volume data ingestion from multiple source systems through:
- Real-time interfaces
- Kafka streaming pipelines
- Batch processing jobs
- Configure and maintain Kafka components, including connectors and schema registries.
- Troubleshoot data integration issues and ensure reliable event processing across millions of daily events.
- Support backend development teams by optimizing database performance, improving query execution plans, and implementing indexing strategies.
- Maintain and improve scheduled jobs responsible for data processing, compliance routines, monitoring, and health checks.
- Enhance observability through monitoring dashboards, alerting, and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and resolve operational incidents.
- Learn and work with SAS and SAS Customer Intelligence 360 as part of the broader data ecosystem.
- Identify opportunities to modernize legacy integrations, automate manual processes, and improve streaming architectures.
- Collaborate closely with platform, integration, and product teams in a DevOps environment where you build, operate, and support your own solutions.
What you bring to the position
- Strong experience with Oracle databases, including performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience supporting large-scale data integration platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including connectors and schema management.
- Solid SQL knowledge with experience optimizing queries and indexing strategies.
- Experience with batch processing, scheduling, and orchestration tools.
- Experience monitoring production systems and troubleshooting operational issues.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and production ownership.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAS.
- Experience with SAS Customer Intelligence 360.
- Knowledge of marketing technology (MarTech) platforms.
- Experience with event-driven architectures.
- Experience designing streaming solutions to replace legacy file-based integrations.
- Knowledge of observability practices, dashboards, alerting, and SLO implementation.
