Strategic Advisors Technology (SAT) is looking for a Principal Software Engineer who has a strong understanding of database technologies and experience building enterprise cloud-enabled distributed systems. We are looking for individuals who continually strive to advance engineering excellence and technology innovation.
The Expertise We're Looking For:
- Expertise writing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code, performing data analysis, data modeling, designing and implementation of data APIs, and performance tuning.
- Expertise writing and maintaining batch jobs with technologies like ETL/Informatica and Autosys.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable application.
- Experience following ATDD (acceptance test-driven development) and writing automated tests for database code.
- Experience with cloud technologies is a bonus: Snowflake, S3.
- Interest in writing clean, testable, readable, easily maintainable, and performant code.
- Knowledge in mid-tier technologies like Java, messaging technologies, web containers, and understanding how they interact with data.
- Comfortable working in an Agile software delivery environment, with exposure to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools.
- Ability to translate storyboards and use cases into applications with critical thinking and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Providing leadership guidance and mentorship to empower team members to their optimum performance levels and career potential.
The Purpose of Your Role & The Value You Deliver: You will actively contribute to the code base while collaborating with multi-subject area team members and customers. You will lead the design and implementation of software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements and align with the program's strategic direction. You will lead application design efforts, participate in design reviews, and conduct code reviews. You will fully engage in product quality plan efforts, including test case development, and regression testing aiming to automate the majority of them. You will also contribute to enhancing engineering practices in the areas of ATDD and CI/CD.
