About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Platform DevOps Engineer – XML Data Automation to join the CBOT (Coach Content Bot) team, the group responsible for ensuring Coach content remains correct, synchronized, and trusted across the organization.
This role blends deep XML expertise with DevOps engineering, focusing on data correctness, automation, validation logic, and cloud‑based operations. You will work on the XML data layer, automation flows, and operational tooling that power the CBOT platform.
CBOT Team Context
The CBOT team builds and operates the technical backbone that ensures Coach content is always accurate and up to date. The team's scope includes:
- Content synchronization and validation
- Automation and monitoring
- Root cause analysis of synchronization issues
The work centers on XML‑based technologies, cloud operations, and automation—not UI development or content authoring.
Role Overview
As a Platform DevOps Engineer (XML Data Automation), you will design, maintain, and optimize XML queries and automation flows that support content synchronization and validation. You will also contribute to packaging, deployment, and operational readiness of CBOT components running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain XQuery and XPath logic for XML‑driven synchronization and validation.
- Work with XML databases to ensure data consistency, performance, and correctness.
- Support automation of deployment, configuration, and operational processes.
- Contribute to packaging and release activities for CBOT platform components.
- Assist in root cause analysis of synchronization and validation issues.
- Support monitoring and day‑to‑day operations of CBOT systems on GCP.
Must‑Have Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with XQuery and XPath.
- Solid experience with XML databases (MarkLogic, BaseX, eXist‑db).
- Strong understanding of XML data modeling, querying, and validation.
Should‑Have Skills
- Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Shell scripting (Bash).
- Experience with RPM packaging.
- Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Linux operational experience.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Familiarity with Java applications, especially in XML processing or integration‑heavy environments.
