In this hands-on senior role, you will ensure the scalability and health of our PostgreSQL systems on AWS while collaborating with teams in Serbia, Iceland, and Canada. Your main responsibilities include optimizing database performance, diagnosing complex issues, and implementing automation for efficient operations. You will also mentor engineers in SQL best practices and provide guidance on schema evolution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own PostgreSQL health and performance across AWS
• Diagnose and resolve complex performance issues
• Automate database operations including migrations
• Drive observability with metrics, SLOs, and dashboards
• Mentor engineers on database optimization best practices
Requirements:
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years in high-scale PostgreSQL environments
• Expertise in AWS and DevOps practices
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools
• Strong communication and mentoring skills
