The Pre‑Construction & Pursuit Assistant Project Manager will lead the management and coordination of heavy civil project pursuits through the RFQ and RFP process, and support a range of pre‑construction activities. Responsibilities
Lead the management and coordination of heavy civil project pursuits through the RFQ and RFP process. Assist in organizing multidisciplinary teams including estimating, scheduling, logistics, operations, design, marketing, and legal. Contribute to the development of technical narratives, project profiles, resumes, and responses to owner questions. Help prepare pursuit schedules, work breakdown structures, and subcontractor engagement materials. Support commercial and contract reviews by gathering information, drafting comments, and tracking risks or issues. Assist with design and constructability reviews to identify conflicts and opportunities for optimization. Manage document control for pursuit and pre‑construction activities, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution. Prepare, review, and track RFIs and follow up with consultants and internal teams. Chair and organize project team meetings. Qualifications
5+ years of experience working onsite on heavy civil construction projects or in the pursuit phase. An Engineering degree or a Construction Management/Technology diploma is an asset. Understanding of contract delivery models such as Design‑Build, Construction Management, Alliance, IPD, and Progressive Design‑Build. Strong writing skills and enjoyment of developing technical narratives. Working knowledge of construction scopes, design development, scheduling, and project management.
