Job Description

As a Process and Application Engineer, you will be a vital link between our engineering innovations and our customers' commercial success. Working within the Engineering team, you will develop a deep understanding of Malta’s technology to configure optimal solutions for specific customer use cases.

You will own the technical support for commercial opportunities, guiding them from early-stage engagement through financial close, and smoothly transitioning them to the Project Execution team. Additionally, you will monitor market conditions, analyze competing technologies, and adapt our technical presentation materials to defend Malta’s competitive advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build an understanding of and document customers’ technical needs and constraints, use cases and business models.
  • Understand market and regulatory conditions affecting the competitiveness and economic evaluation of Malta solutions.
  • Create Ebsilon models to support customer industrial electrification.
  • Support customer phone, video and in-person meetings.
  • Work with partner engineering groups, to assist them in the detailed design of Malta solutions.
  • Simulate dispatch models to evaluate forecasted plant economics under different operating and market assumptions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years engineering experience.
  • Proven process engineering experience within the energy sector.
  • Strong background in thermodynamics.
  • Proficiency with Thermoflex, Ebsilon, or similar steady-state heat balance calculation software.
  • Professional working proficiency in English (C1 level).

Desired Characteristics

  • Heat pump design and application experience.
  • Power Generation Product experience.
  • Understanding of heat pump, power generation, renewable energy, and/or energy storage market dynamics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer support experience.
  • Experience building standard tools and processes to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Able to manage priorities and to meet schedules in fast-paced environment.
