Position Summary

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for leading process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities to ensure robust, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing performance. This role provides technical leadership across production processes, drives root-cause analysis for complex issues, and supports strategic initiatives to improve yield, productivity, cost, and equipment/process reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead process monitoring, analysis, and optimization to improve performance, yield, and stability
  • Investigate complex process deviations, defects, and equipment-related issues
  • Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring problems
  • Develop, validate, and implement process improvements, standards, and controls
  • Support new product introduction, process transfer, and qualification activities
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Industrial Engineering, and R&D teams
  • Define and track key process KPIs such as:
    • Yield
    • Scrap
    • Throughput
    • Cycle time
    • Downtime
    • Process capability
  • Review and update process documentation, specifications, and work instructions
  • Lead or support continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to shop-floor teams
  • Present technical findings, action plans, and project progress to management

Job Requirement:

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM field
  • Experience: Prior experience in Cu CMP experience (AMAT Mirra is highly preferred)

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of semiconductor manufacturing principles and process engineering / integration
  • Familiarity with CMP fundamentals and semiconductor process flows; ability to adjust equipment parameters based on process requirements
  • Capability to analyze wafer surface defects (e.g., scratches, residues) and material removal rate performance
  • Data analysis capabilities; proficiency with data analysis tools is a plus

Core Competencies

  • Strong hands-on capabilities with a willingness to work in a cleanroom environment
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and team collaboration skills
  • Systematic logical thinking and structured problem-solving abilities
  • Good English reading comprehension and technical documentation writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in different CMP processes
  • In-depth knowledge of CMP tool hardware architecture and endpoint detection system principles
  • Prior experience in process startup with recipe development
