Process Development Engineer (Shift) Location: Waterford, Ireland Shift Pattern: 24/7 Continental Shift (2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 Days Off) The Opportunity We are looking for experienced Process Development Engineers to join our clients Waterford manufacturing site. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in pharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, technical operations, or engineering support who are looking to take ownership of key improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence. As a technical leader, you will support manufacturing operations, lead process optimisation projects, troubleshoot complex manufacturing challenges, and play a critical role in new product introductions, technology transfers, and continuous improvement programmes. Key Responsibilities Lead process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. Provide technical leadership and support to operations teams. Drive root cause investigations, problem-solving activities, and CAPA implementation. Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle times. Support capital projects, process development programmes, and plant trials. Act as a Subject Matter Expert for manufacturing processes, product quality attributes, and critical process parameters. Support new product introductions, clinical supply projects, product enhancements, and technology transfers. Develop and monitor key performance metrics. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve manufacturing and development operations. Ensure all activities comply with GMP requirements. About You Essential Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related discipline. Proven experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing, process development, process engineering, or technical operations. Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving skills. Experience leading improvement projects in a regulated manufacturing environment. Desirable Advanced degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline. Experience with aseptic manufacturing and lyophilisation. Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE), statistical analysis, and pharmaceutical product development. Project management experience and strong stakeholder engagement skills. Why Apply?
