Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer site surveys and technical assessments to gather detailed information on production processes, operational requirements, facility constraints, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales and Service teams to develop customized engineering solutions, identify upgrade opportunities, and support business development initiatives.
  • Participate in all project phases from initial customer engagement, concept development, feasibility studies, cost estimation, proposal preparation, detailed engineering, commissioning, startup, and handover.
  • Design, develop, review, and modify Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), utility flow diagrams, and process layouts for nutrition, dairy, food, and beverage processing plants.
  • Engineer and specify process systems including but not limited to:
  • Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems
  • Sterilization-in-Place (SIP) systems
  • Product transfer and distribution systems
  • Mixing and blending systems
  • Liquid processing systems
  • Hygienic piping networks
  • Heat exchangers and thermal processing systems
  • Process vessels and tanks
  • Utility systems (steam, condensate, hot water, chilled water, compressed air, WFI/process water where applicable)
  • Perform process calculations and equipment sizing, including flow rates, pump selection, valve sizing, tank sizing, heat loads, utility consumption, pressure drop calculations, and CIP/SIP capacity requirements.
  • Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, scope of work documents, equipment lists, instrument lists, and bill of materials for project execution.
  • Ensure all process designs comply with relevant food, dairy, nutrition, hygienic engineering, safety, and quality standards, including GMP, HACCP, EHEDG, 3-A, and applicable local regulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and engineering support during sales activities, customer meetings, and technical presentations.
  • Work closely with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal engineering disciplines to ensure successful project execution within budget and schedule requirements.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning activities, performance validation, troubleshooting, and operational optimization.
  • Lead or support system startups and customer training activities to ensure proper operation and maintenance of installed equipment and process systems.
  • Assist GEA Service Support and technical teams in diagnosing and resolving process, equipment, and system performance issues during commissioning and warranty periods.
  • Conduct hazard identification, process risk assessments, HAZOP reviews (where applicable), and ensure implementation of safety requirements in accordance with company and customer procedures.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, project records, design revisions, and customer communications throughout project lifecycles.
  • Promote the company's technologies, products, services, and engineering capabilities to existing and prospective customers.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager.



Profile & Qualification

  • sBachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering, Dairy Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • .Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in process engineering, plant engineering, project engineering, or commissioning within the nutrition, dairy, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or hygienic processing industries
  • .Strong experience in process plant design and engineerin g, including development and interpretation of PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and utility system s
  • .Hands-on experience with CIP and SIP system design, validation, troubleshooting, and optimizatio n
  • .Good understanding of liquid and powder processing technologies, including mixing, batching, blending, heat treatment, evaporation, spray drying, and product transfer systems
  • .Experience in hygienic process design and sanitary equipment selection, including pumps, valves, instruments, tanks, heat exchangers, and piping systems
  • .Strong knowledge of process utilities such as steam, condensate, hot water, chilled water, compressed air, and purified/process water systems
  • .Ability to perform engineering calculations related to hydraulics, heat transfer, mass balances, utility consumption, and equipment sizing
  • .Proficient in AutoCAD and ability to prepare and review engineering drawings and P&IDs. Experience with Plant 3D or similar engineering software is an advantage
  • .Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • .Ability to read, interpret, create, and review engineering documents, technical specifications, and schematic diagrams
  • .Excellent communication, presentation, and technical report writing skills in English
  • .Strong customer focus with the ability to engage effectively with customers, consultants, contractors, and cross-functional teams
  • .Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and commercial awareness
  • .Service-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently as well as within multidisciplinary teams
  • .High level of safety awareness and commitment to quality and compliance standards
  • .Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively and work outside normal business hours when project requirements demand
