Job Description
The Processing Manager is responsible for leading extraction, formulation, packaging, and finished goods operations for a vertically integrated cannabis company in Southwest Michigan. This role oversees day-to-day processing activities, ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, production efficiency, and a safe, organized work environment. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with experience in cannabis processing, packaging, and high-volume production who can drive efficiency and continuously improve operations.

Responsibilities
- Oversee extraction, formulation, infusion, packaging, and finished goods operations
- Lead solventless extraction, vape formulation, and flower infusion processes
- Manage production schedules and ensure finished goods are prepared for third-party testing
- Oversee packaging operations and ensure products are accurately labeled, stored, and compliant
- Lead and develop processing and packaging teams, including training, performance management, and corrective action
- Develop and maintain SOPs, production workflows, and visual management systems
- Monitor production metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and output
- Manage equipment, supplies, consumables, and preventative maintenance schedules
- Maintain accurate inventory and ensure full METRC compliance
- Conduct QA/QC checks to ensure product consistency and quality
- Enforce PPE, safety, OSHA, and Michigan cannabis regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient processing environment
- Analyze and present production data using Excel and other reporting tools
- Collaborate with cultivation, post-harvest, and other departments to support overall production goals
- Support continued growth in production capacity and operational efficiency
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of cannabis industry experience
- 2+ years of management or supervisory experience in a production environment
- Experience with cannabis processing, packaging, or extraction required
- Strong understanding of METRC and Michigan cannabis regulations
- Experience with extraction is strongly preferred; solventless experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of production workflow, efficiency, and operational KPIs
- Strong Excel and spreadsheet management skills
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and people leadership skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Must be 21+ and able to pass a state-required background check
- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and flexible schedules as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying indoor environmental conditions
Compensation:
- Full time on site
- Starting Salary between $75-85k (Based on experience)
