Processing Technician
Job Description
Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Processing Technician to operate all equipment to perform heat treating, plating, wastewater treatment, or waste oil treatment processes. Perform quality checks and complete production work orders and/or related documents. When performing any tasks involving hazardous chemicals or hazardous waste, follow the regulations and requirements of SPCC Plan, RCRA regulations and operating procedures involving hazardous chemicals outlined in company documents.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include operating equipment and performing duties as related to functional area of assignment and being familiar with safety, environmental, and emergency procedures for equipment in that functional area. Operate mechanical and electro-plating equipment, and other metal finishing processes, and be familiar with plating methods and metal finishing procedures. Must be able to read charts and graphs and follow instructions closely. Must have working knowledge of measuring equipment and accurately weigh and mix chemicals per instructions. Control pollution treatment tanks per instructions. Must be able to read charts and graphs. Should have a basic knowledge of chemistry. Perform job duties in compliance with quality standards. Responsible for the proper care and maintenance of equipment. Keep work area clean and orderly. Wear safety equipment as required and work safely at all times. Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards. Make out production reports, timecards and other reports or forms as required. Operators of power equipment will be responsible for checking oil, water, fuel, etc. before and during the operation of said equipment. Maintain full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Code of Conduct. Demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to learn manufacturing principles and techniques. When performing any tasks involving hazardous chemicals or hazardous waste, follow the regulations and requirements of RPCC Plan, SPCC Plan, RCRA regulations and operating procedures involving hazardous chemicals outlined in the Howmet Fasteners Environmental management.
Qualifications
Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1+ years relevant experience in function, ability to read, write, and do simple math, mechanical aptitude and ability, and ability to operate a forklift.
