Responsibilities
  • The Product Development Engineer Level 2 is the primary Forvia technical representative in front of the customer.
  • Leads the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) for all technical/engineering related problem‑solving needs.
  • Coordinates with engineering leaders (mechanical, electronics, software, etc.) to (Lead – Resolve – Execute – Implement) all engineering requirements and deliverables.
  • Goes from concept to implementation, passing through analysis and validation of all engineering changes coming from different parties (manufacturing, production, purchasing, external suppliers and even customer design changes).
  • Builds an internal engineering schedule to match with the customer master schedule and industrialization/purchasing or any other constraints.
  • Accountable for all technical/engineering reporting to the Program Review Committee (PMC), including risks, opportunities and corresponding action plans.
  • Formally releases/approves internally all data levels that are given to the customer (CAD data, customer‑specific engineering templates, etc.) for internal use within the company.
  • Establishes and manages the Bill Of Materials (BOMs) with all PDM (Product Data Management) in any existing platform that is being used (e.g., SAP).

Qualifications
  • Minimum education level: A bachelor's degree in engineering areas such as electronics, mechanical, software, computer science, mechatronics, etc.
  • A master's in Engineering Science with a thesis in automotive related areas is highly desired.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of automotive background working holistically in product development for OEMs and Tier1 suppliers.
  • Preferably working in electronics modules, ECUs, infotainment displays and integration, ADAS and any other major module in automotive cockpit.

Skills and Competencies:

  • General automotive knowledge and TierI or OEM engineering experience.
  • APQP experience.
  • Knowledge in the R&D and or Electronic Product Development area.
  • 100% English language proficiency.
  • Minimum language skills: English.
  • CAD, CAE, CAM & PCB design computer skills.
  • Program Management skills.
  • Electronical Products Validation skills.

Technical Competences:

  • Core tools: APQP, MSA, SPC, FMEA & PPAP.
  • GD&T.
  • IATF .
  • ISO14001.
  • Problem‑solving.
