Summary
This is an IT Professional 3 position with the Dept of Motor Vehicles, IT Division located in Carson City. The incumbent will engineer, enhance, and maintain secure, scalable, and efficient Cloud infrastructure, with a focus on leveraging managed and serverless services and applying the Shared Responsibility Model. This position will apply the Well-Architected Framework to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain stable and efficient Cloud architectures and environments, including hybrid Cloud solutions.
The role requires experience with programming, infrastructure automation, and the research, analysis, and modification of Cloud-based, enterprise-wide systems and application software. The incumbent will apply engineering knowledge across a broad range of Cloud services, including security, monitoring, compute, networking, storage, and database services. Responsibilities also include maintaining clear documentation of Cloud processes and procedures and proactively developing knowledge of emerging Cloud engineering trends, technologies, and best practices.
Under the authority of NRS 239B.010.1(b), the DMV utilizes NRS 205.4605–205.810, NRS 293.504, NRS 293.5045, 6 CFR 37.45, 49 CFR 1572.103, and 49 CFR 384.228 as criteria to obtain an FBI fingerprint clearance check on current and prospective employees. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Qualifications
