Program Analyst Position
This Program Analyst position is located in Direct Reports, Chief of Staff, Audit Liaison Division, Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
- Serves as a technical advisor on audit matters and acts as the primary point of contact between the agency and external auditors throughout the audit lifecycle.
- Coordinates audit activities and provides requested data, documentation, and official responses to auditors in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
- Facilitates communication among and delivers training to program offices, auditors, and other stakeholders to support audit readiness, resolve audit issues, and ensure consistent understanding of audit requirements.
Audit Findings, Corrective Actions, and Compliance Monitoring
- Reviews draft agency responses and related audit products before external transmission to ensure they are accurate, complete, logically supported, and consistent with the agency's official position.
- Maintains comprehensive records of audit findings, recommendations, corrective actions, and supporting documentation to ensure timely tracking, follow-up, and resolution.
Program Analysis, Management Advisory Services, and Continuous Improvement
- Provides regular updates regarding high profile issues to senior officials and the Departmental Audit Liaison, including written reports and verbal briefings.
- Advises management on the effectiveness and efficiency of the audit liaison program, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions to address areas of concern.
- Provides expert guidance on unusual or complex issues related to audit activities.
Audit Policy, Guidance, Requirements, and Program Development
- Reviews changes to relevant laws, regulations, and Federal audit requirements to assess their impact on the audit process and consults legal counsel as appropriate.
- Communicates significant changes in audit policies and procedures to relevant stakeholders across the agency and provides guidance.
- Develops and implements approaches, techniques, procedures, and guidance for audit liaison activities to ensure consistency with Federal requirements and agency objectives.
