This position provides technical program and operational support for the Division of Workers' Compensation (Division) by coordinating activities for the Coverage Enforcement, Self-Insurance, Colorado Uninsured Employer (CUE) Fund, and Special Funds programs. The position reviews and processes program documentation, maintains official records, supports enforcement and compliance activities, coordinates legally required notifications and document service, monitors financial and program data, and provides technical assistance to employers, insurers, claimants, and Division staff. The position helps ensure the accurate, timely, and legally compliant administration of Division programs while serving as a resource for program processes and stakeholder inquiries. The position requires outstanding customer service skills and a high attention to detail.
Coverage Enforcement
Reviews and processes employer and insurance carrier submissions to determine whether information is complete and accurate.
Coordinates referrals of enforcement cases to the Attorney General's Office by ensuring case records are complete and accurate and preparing referral materials.
Maintains official program records for coverage rejections, insurance carriers, self-insured pools, and uncompensated public officials to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
Monitors mail and electronic communications, prioritizes and routes inquiries, responds to routine technical questions, and ensures program documents are processed correctly.
Oversees the unit's supplies and office equipment orders and tracks expenditures. Coordinates resolution of technical issues with the appropriate units.
Document Mailing
Coordinates the Division's document service process to ensure orders, notices, and other official documents are sent in compliance with legal and internal requirements.
Reviews certificates of service to ensure documents are accurately and timely served.
Monitors document workflows and schedules to ensure compliance with deadlines, prioritizes time-sensitive communications, and coordinates with Division staff to ensure documents are issued on the appropriate service date.
For returned mail, researches updated contact information, determines appropriate remedies, and coordinates with Division staff to ensure service is completed and documented.
Self Insurance, CUE Fund, and Special Funds Programs
Supports the Division's Self-Insurance, CUE Fund, and Special Funds programs by coordinating program activities, maintaining official records, monitoring compliance with statutory and program requirements, and supporting the timely administration of program operations.
Maintains electronic claim files, evaluates judicial orders and claim documentation for completeness, and coordinates required notifications to parties.
Coordinates the annual permit renewal process for self-insured employers and monitors compliance with renewal requirements.
Reviews invoices submitted by the Division's third-party administrator (TPA) for CUE Fund, Self-Insurance, and Special Funds claims prior to payment.
Maintains expenditure records and financial tracking to ensure accurate program administration and fiscal accountability.
