ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and community-driven Program Coordinator to lead our Learn to Swim & Recreation Programs under the national Play Our Way initiative. This position is classified as aLevel 4, Social and Community Servies Employee, under the SCHADS Award.
The Play Our Way initiative supports culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women and girls to participate in sport and physical activity in ways that are accessible, inclusive, trauma-informed, andculturally responsive.
This role sits within our Resilience Team, contributing directly to community strength and social inclusion outcomes. If you believe recreation can be a powerful tool for inclusion and resilience,this role is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Program Coordinator, you will:
- Design, coordinate and deliver three 14-week culturally safe swimming and recreation programs each year
- Design, coordinate and deliver other community wellbeing and recreational activities
- Build strong partnerships with community groups, service providers and local stakeholders
- Engage CALD women and young people through consultation and co-design
- Ensure trauma-informed, inclusive program delivery
- Oversee compliance, data collection, reporting and evaluation
- Support funding accountability and continuous improvement
- Contribute to a collaborative and values-driven team culture
- Monitoring, evaluation and reporting aligned with Department of Health and Aged Care guidelines
We are looking for: Someone who is a thoughtful and capable communitydevelopment practitioner who thrives on connection and purpose.
Essential
- 4-year degree + 1-year relevant experience; OR 3-year degree + 2 years relevant experience; OR 5+ years’ experience in a similar community services/NFP role
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse women and young people
- Demonstrated experience in community consultation, program design, implementation and evaluation
- Understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft 365 and CRM systems for data entry and reporting
- Maintain Working with Children Check and National
- Police Check
Highly Regarded
- Experience supporting compliance and reporting to funding bodies
- Fluency in a second language
- Lived refugee or migration experience
- Valid NSW Driver’s Licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
