Overview
AtkinsRéalis is hiring a skilled and experienced Program Cost Controller to join our team. The Program Cost Controller will be part of a high-performing project team supporting a transformative large scale airport infrastructure project. This position is based in our project office located in the west end of Toronto.
Your role
- Assures cost reporting and undertakes critical review to ensure accurate and timely information of budget, commitments, forecast, trends, variances, progress, performance, risk and opportunity, contingency, and cashflow.
- Conducts ongoing analysis of program risks during execution, working closely with Program Controls to optimize contingency strategies.
- Monitors program costs against agreed-upon budgets, schedules, and contractual deliverables within and across large and mission-critical projects.
- Monitors the statistical and trends analysis of contracts and payout of contracts.
- Conducts the review and audit of non-contract costs, labour and expense reports, and submittal of adjustments to finance to ensure complete and accurate information.
- Performs Earned Value Management including the provision of analysis and management reports to summarize and explain key variances.
- Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of project staff.
About you
- Recognized degree in quantity surveying, cost and commercial management, project management, or another relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in cost management, cost control, quantity surveying, or project accounting within large infrastructure programs.
- Experience in cost control, financial analysis, risk management and reporting principles and practices in large, complex multibillion-dollar and multi-project construction and infrastructure environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other cost management software tools and applications to document and illustrate cost performance.
- Experience in implementing and operating Earned Value Management (EVM) in large infrastructure programs.
- Experience in cost reporting and the integration of cost information from across the program to create consolidated program-level cost reports.
- General understanding of program controls and the interdependencies between cost, schedule, risk, and scope.
- A recognized designation as Cost Control Professional (CCP), Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or equivalent is considered an asset.

Expected compensation for this role is between $128,000 - $148,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters such as skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
