The Engineering Graduate Program at Volvo Group Trucks Technology is a global 12-month program where you are offered the perfect mix of on-the-job learning and diverse training modules. You will get the chance to use your technical and creative engineering skills while gaining valuable experience working with real products on real business challenges. Besides your manager, who will guide and support you in your daily job, you will have a supportive network of peer graduates, colleagues across the globe and senior leaders to help you excel.

What you will do :
We are looking for an engineer with a strong background in fluid mechanics and physical modeling to support the development of mathematical models for fuel injection systems . The main objective is to replace an existing white-box model with a physically grounded approach based on system parameters and operating conditions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and validate physics-based models for fuel flow in injection systems;
- Collaborate on vehicle control strategies and calibration tasks;
- Interface with embedded software requirements and system-level constraints;
- Analyze experimental data and adjust models accordingly;
- Work alongside cross-functional engineering teams in an automotive environment.
Required Technical Skills :
- Solid understanding of internal combustion engine operation;
- Knowledge or academic experience related to the automotive industry (not mandatory);
- Strong background in fluid dynamics and physical system modeling;
- Familiarity with fuel injection systems;
- Basic understanding of embedded software and vehicle control/calibration strategies.

To qualify for the Engineering Graduate Program, you will need :
- A graduation in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Automation, Software Engineering or similar;
- We are opened to other graduation backgrounds, provided you meet the requried technical skills and competences.
- To have graduated no more than 18 months ago and with a maximum of two years working experience prior to, or after graduation. :
- You are not currently a Volvo employee.
- You also need to be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
