Student Assistant Opportunity
The New York State Department of Labor is seeking a student assistant to work in the Office of Workforce Development (OWD). The division provides extensive technical assistance, training, and data reporting and analysis in support of a network of more than 90 career centers managed by the state and local partners. The primary focus of OWD is to connect job seekers with businesses searching for talent in New York State and to administer the state's workforce development programs.
In this opportunity, a student assistant may develop a training program by assessing the need and building course content. Students will analyze business practices and make recommendations for greater efficiency and improved performance. A student will apply organizational skills to improve office efficiency and use their communication skills to assist with reviewing web content and writing newsletter articles.

The ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
Focus of Degree Concentrations: Business Administration, Communication Studies, Information Technology, Liberal Arts, Mechanic and Repair Technologies, Public Administration.
Preferred minimum education level: Sophomore
Preferred maximum education level: Graduate Student
