Program Manager
The Orange County Animal Services Department has an opening for a Program Manager.
An employee of this class is primarily responsible for the management of the Animal Services volunteer program, foster and transfer of shelter animals, community outreach and special events including, but not limited to, off-site adoption events, rabies clinics, and the low cost spay and neuter voucher program. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Animal Services Director, with considerable leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work and in making decisions regarding client needs and requests. Supervision of assigned staff and volunteers is a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in any field of study and three (3) years of experience in volunteer management or animal services program management; OR
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A higher degree does not substitute for experience.
Previous experience making group presentations is preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver License issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Must be able to work after work hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
