Program Manager

Responsible for managing the operation of a program or project, supervising employees, and providing oversight of and guidance to a team or area within a department.
The primary purpose of this position is to lead and coordinate industry engagement, research development, and strategic growth initiatives for the Texas State Center for Analytics and Data Science (TXSTCADS). This role serves as the central liaison between the Center, industry partners, and faculty to advance collaborative research, workforce development, commercialization, and externally funded projects.
Core responsibilities include initiating and cultivating industry research collaborations, workforce development partnerships, and external funding opportunities. This includes developing and managing individualized engagement plans for Industry Advisory Board members, coordinating one-on-one meetings and biannual board meetings, and maintaining consistent, strategic communication with existing and prospective partners, including Industry Fellows.
Additionally, the role supports annual reporting requirements for TXSTCADS and external sponsors, compliance with funding and institutional policies, major events and annual activities, and contributes to overall operational continuity. This position follows a hybrid work arrangement.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree with minimum of three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience level, knowledge of university policies and procedures, the management of specific functions within a program or department, any laws/regulations/compliance that are relevant to externally funded programs and grants, basic understanding of analytics and data science, supervisory experience, knowledge of administrative tasks related to grant management, effective oral and written communication, and the ability to problem solve and find answers.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a STEM/Data Science related field.
