Program Manager

Youth Development Program

Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week

$40,000-$50,000/Year

Schedule: Determined on a case-by-case basis; Some evening hours

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Oversees the Youth Development Program and provides supervision to program staff. Implements contracted services to eligible youth 14-24 years of age.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Directs daily activities of the Youth Development Program
  • Identifies and secures essential operational funding.
  • Facilitates the writing of and development of contracts for provided services.
  • Supervises program staff within scope of agency personnel practices. Assists with hiring, approves vacation and sick time, and provides ongoing evaluation
  • Monitors and evaluates programming outcomes
  • Receives incoming referrals, assign to staff, and serves for potential contracted services
  • Mentoring

    • Process and match mentoring referrals with mentees
    • Provide mentoring services for youth and young adults facing barriers to success.
    • Plan and participate in meetings with mentees to occur twice a month.
    • Plan and participating in quarterly group mentoring activities

    Academic Achievement

    • Assist participants in identifying their academic area of need and develop a plan to meet that need.
    • Schedule and maintain regular meetings with youth to reach identified academic goals.
    • When suitable, communicates regularly with participant's school of record and teaching staff to plan for a successful completion of the academic year and/or graduation.
    • Assist participants with activities that help prepare for and transition to post-secondary education and training.
    • Connections for/to dropout prevention, recovery services, and alternative secondary school options when appropriate.

    Life Skills

    • Plan and facilitate group meetings that provide life skills for a successful transition to independent living.
    • Accompany group members on and scheduled off-sight classes/field trips

    Financial Literacy

    • Plan and facilitate group meetings that provide education on financial literacy
    • Accompany group members on and scheduled off-sight classes/field trips

    Entrepreneurship/Leadership

    • Plan and facilitate group meetings that provide insight into entrepreneurship and leadership
    • Accompany group members on and scheduled off-sight classes/field trips

    Payroll Processing

    • Complete documentation to enroll participant
    • Process youth's timesheets
  • Provide all participants with referrals for additional services when a need has been identified.
  • When needed, Transport participants for program success.
  • Complete all necessary program documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain regular communication with PCJFS CCMEP case managers,
  • Attend PCJFS meetings as requested
  • Implements quality assurance activities according to agency procedures.
  • Develops and maintains ongoing collaboration with partner agencies.
  • Represents agency on service provider networks, coordinating bodies, and in the general community.
  • Conducts regular program team meetings.
  • Attends agency and other meetings as requested.
  • Operates within program budget and funding requirements.
  • Oversee program facilities and ensures facility safety and upkeep.
  • Comply with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with a culturally diverse population required.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, and families is required.
  • Must have the ability to work as a team member, model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, and manage conflicts.
  • Experience in effectively utilizing community resources required.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
  • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field and/or a minimum of 3 years equivalent experience required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience in human/social services/family development required. Supervisory experience or independent experience managing, leading, directing, or coordinating groups required. Knowledge of Department of Labor programming is helpful
