We're looking for a talented Programme Controller who can combine strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and stakeholder engagement to drive the successful delivery of multi-million-pound Water capital programmes that make a real difference to our customers and communities.
In this role, you'll provide comprehensive programme governance, performance monitoring, financial control & overview, and reporting across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with Programme Managers, Project Managers, Finance teams and delivery partners, you'll help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and with maximum business benefit.
What you'll be doing
Assuring programme costs, outputs, deliverables and risks
Developing and maintaining programme control processes, governance frameworks and performance indicators.
Planning & Tracking programme costs, outputs , risks, milestones, and delivery performance.
Producing insightful management reports, dashboards, KPIs, forecasts, and variance analysis.
Supporting investment decisions through programme profiling, forecasting, and risk assessments.
Identifying delivery risks, programme slippage and opportunities for performance improvement.
Managing change control processes and assessing the impact of programme changes.
Working with stakeholders across the business to drive efficient delivery and continuous improvement.
Using cost and performance data to identify value added opportunities.
Continuously improving processes to better control costs and delivery.
What we're looking for
A team player
Proven experience in programme and PMO environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience with financial control principles, procurement and cost control systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate complex data.
Understanding of risk management principles and programme governance.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
Experience producing bespoke reports.
Ability to influence and constructively challenge to drive improvement.
Good understanding of business systems and applications, including SAP.
Excels in a busy, fast-paced setting, consistently meeting deadlines and performance targets.
Basic knowledge of the water industry and water supply systems.
