Job Overview
Title: Programmer Analyst I, Department: Student Housing and Community Services | Development Services IT. Compensation Range: $6,251.00 - $8,986.00 CAD monthly. Posting End Date: June 18, 2026. Position expected to be filled by promotion/reassignment.
Job Summary
The Programmer Analyst I programs software application modules and codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those modules. This position works a fixed schedule but requires flexibility as some work must be performed outside regular business hours.
Organizational Status
This role is a member of the Student Housing and Community Services IT team, supporting system development at all layers and working closely with other UBC IT teams and academic/administrative clients.

Core Duties
Consequence of Error / Judgement
Expected to make decisions regarding programming and technical support within established guidelines. Errors can disrupt operations with financial impact. Responsibility for reliable operations is critical for department operations and revenue.
Supervision Received
Reports to the Systems Development Manager under the Operations unit. Work is reviewed for completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and objective achievement.
Supervision Given
This position has no direct reports.
