Programs Manager
The Minnesota Rare Disease Council is looking for their next Programs Manager! This position will collaborate with stakeholders and monitor the progress of various program initiatives that improve systems designed to meet the needs of individuals living with a rare disease throughout Minnesota. In this role, an individual will be responsible for independently coordinating and monitoring projects and initiatives, as well as assisting in the development of plans for new programs to ensure that the Council is executing on its mission of improving care for individuals with rare diseases.
This is a.80 FTE position expected to work 32 hours a week. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework arrangement, onsite attendance will be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Minimum Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience in project and/or program management within state government or private non-profit healthcare organizations.
- Ability to identify and meet program milestones and deadlines
- Ability to work with a variety of federal, state, and local community agencies, and/or task forces to develop coordinated long-range planning programs and facilitate decision-making to ensure appropriate processes are followed with rare disease populations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public officials, planning groups, advocacy groups, and other human services professionals serving rare disease populations
- Ability to develop ideas and recommendations and present them effectively to a wide range of groups and individuals verbally and in writing.
An associate's degree or higher in public policy, public administration, business administration, communications or a related degree may substitute for six months of experience. A bachelor's degree as described may substitute for one year experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience of the barriers, issues, and areas of importance regarding individuals living with rare diseases.
- Lived or professional experience of rare diseases.
- Diplomacy and creative problem-solving skills to lead effective conversations and recommend solutions to complex problems.
- Experience working with marginalized communities and understanding the concepts of intersectionality.
- Knowledge or experience with health access and improved patient care principles.
Additional Requirements
