Project Engineer

Role Overview:

Act as the central liaison between the Head Office (HQ) Project Management & Control (PMC) team, the local factory production team, and clients. This critical role ensures all project milestones are achieved on time, within quality standards, and within budget, with a specific focus on sheet metal fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HQ & Factory Coordination (PMC Tasks):

  • Serve as the primary interface between HQ PMC and local factory production, translating, coordinating, and following up on production schedules, tasks, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Monitor daily production activities to ensure strict compliance with HQ’s planning and project timelines.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, expedite processes, and address any manufacturing issues promptly.
  • Request production schedule adjustments with local PMC to meet urgent client deadlines.
  • Initiate or request specialized materials, tools, or jigs specifically required for assigned projects, subject to budget limits.

2. Client Communication & Project Management:

  • Act as the direct point of contact for clients, handling technical inquiries, providing project updates, and reporting on progress.
  • Interpret client requirements, specifications, and technical drawings, effectively communicating them to the production team.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project schedules, progress reports, and engineering changes (ECO/ECR).
  • Represent the company in technical meetings, status updates, and daily project correspondence with clients.

3. Technical Support & Quality Control:

  • Provide expert technical support and guidance in sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Conduct thorough site inspections, factory floor quality checks, and final product validation prior to shipment to clients.
  • Manage troubleshooting efforts and rectify issues related to sheet metal assemblies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field.

Experience:

  • More than 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication processes, drawing interpretation, and Quality Control (QC) standards.
  • Experience in project management or project engineering, specifically within a manufacturing or factory environment.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical information to diverse audiences (HQ, factory, clients).
  • Ability to interpret complex client requirements, specifications, and drawings.
