Wood is recruiting a Senior Project Engineer to support Project Engineering team on contract basis.
This is site based role and will be predominantly at the CES office at Hessle with occasional site and other client office visits. The role is a mixture of office and remote working with expectation of minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
The Role
Our Project Engineers work closely with the client to deliver capital projects from concept through to completion. This role works closely with a multi-disciplined engineering team consisting of both Wood and client engineers alongside external designers, equipment vendors, and skilled contractors.
The role will require you to be flexible in your day-to-day activities.

Focal point for discipline leads for multi–discipline issues that require expediting or resolution
Organise, attend, chair, contribute and prepare reports for client meetings
Collate actions and expedite the closure of the outstanding actions with appropriate design disciplines & client
Forecast work area activities against schedule and deliverables at a work division and individual basis
Integration of design schedule to procurement, fabrication and construction schedules
Work closely with project controls team to manage budget and schedule
Prepare and check scope of work specifications, project procedures and project reports
Monitor and review engineering progress with Project Services and Engineering disciplines utilising Power BI/Imperium.
Review engineering budgets and performance and initiate control measures including adjustments to manning levels
Monitor receipt and review cycle for vendor documents and identify any problem areas
Attend Procurement status meetings
Assist with development of Design Change Notices & technical queries
Effective change control using PCR/CR system
Production of CTRs for projects from client RFQs
Main point of contact with client for your project portfolio
Ensure project metrics are within green KPI range (MPI/SPI/CPI)
Maintain project risk registers

Expected:
HND / Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
Application of Wood and client health and safety standards within the working environment and design process
Ability to maintain safe working practices through all stages of a project with a focus on the assessment and mitigation of safety issues through design
Working in/leading multi-discipline teams delivering work packages in accordance with the requirements of quality and environmental management systems qualified to ISO standards
Be able to manage work scope and interfaces between all engineering disciplines to ensure the successful delivery of assigned work packages
Ability to review vendor documents and identify any problem areas
