COMPENSATION: $34 - $44 HOURLY

Role Overview

This position is responsible for coordinating and driving the execution of the RMTO Operations Safety Support program. The role supports Operations Managers by managing incident follow-up, corrective action closure, contractor onboarding oversight, behavioral safety audits, and PSRM checklist execution. This position requires a strong floor presence, disciplined task management, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support incident confirmation, initial reporting, and documentation in safety systems.
  • Coordinate incident investigation and follow-up, including fact-gathering and root cause support.
  • Identify, assign, and track RMTO-owned corrective actions through to closure.
  • Support pre-shift safety briefs in partnership with EHS and Operations leadership.
  • Conduct behavioral safety audits, including real-time coaching and correction of at-risk behaviors.
  • Oversee contractor onboarding execution, including competency verification and monitoring.
  • Complete or coordinate PSRM checklist execution in accordance with pre-production safety criteria.
  • Maintain an enhanced floor presence to verify adherence to SOPs and operational safety standards.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, EHS, Facilities, Maintenance, and Engineering to resolve safety-related blockers.
  • Provide leadership with regular summaries of open actions, risks, and performance.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience in manufacturing operations, safety and EHS support, industrial hygiene, program management, or a related field are required. Equivalent experience in a production floor leadership or operational safety coordination role may be considered. Candidates should be familiar with safety and EHS concepts, including incident investigation, behavioral-based safety auditing, and contractor safety management. This role requires working on the production floor and the ability to coach and correct at-risk behavior in real time. A working knowledge of PIT operations and SOP housekeeping standards is necessary, along with strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with AUSTIN or an equivalent incident or safety system.
